required documents via email: admin@sascp.org.za<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-file\"><a id=\"wp-block-file--media-610f08b0-bf6e-40a8-9442-aed0b9c11b5a\" href=\"http:\/\/sascp.org.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Travel-Grant-Application-Form.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Download the Travel Grant Application Form here<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:var(--contrast-3)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-contrast-color\">Assessment Criteria<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applications should be evaluated using a weighted scoring system:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>2.1 Scientific Merit (30%)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Quality, originality, and relevance of the research<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Alignment with current disciplinary priorities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Potential contribution to knowledge advancement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>2.2 Conference Quality and Relevance (20%)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reputation and accreditation of the conference<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Relevance to the applicant\u2019s research field<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Type of participation (oral &gt; poster)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>2.3 Applicant Track Record (15%)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Academic performance or research outputs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Previous presentations or publications<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Progress within degree (for students)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>2.4 Motivation and Impact (20%)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Clear justification for attending<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Expected academic, institutional, and societal benefits<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knowledge transfer plans (e.g., report, seminar)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>2.5 Financial Need and Budget Justification (15%)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Availability of alternative funding<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Realistic and justified budget<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cost-effectiveness of travel plan<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:var(--contrast-3)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-contrast-color\">Required Documentation<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applicants must submit the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Completed application form<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Abstract of the research (accepted or submitted)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of acceptance (if available at time of application)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Motivation letter (maximum 1\u20132 pages)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Updated curriculum vitae (CV)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Academic transcript (for students)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Detailed budget (travel, accommodation, registration)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Letter of support from supervisor &#8211; for students<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:var(--contrast-3)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-contrast-color\">Post-Award Requirements<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Successful applicants must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Submit proof of attendance (certificate or registration confirmation)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Present&nbsp; short feedback at the AGM at the Combined Congress if you are not able to attend the AGM then a short report 1-2 pages on outcomes and benefits, needs to be submitted<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submit photos as proof that you also attended the conference, because we can also promote SASCP<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:var(--contrast-3)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-contrast-color\">Evaluation Process<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Applications are reviewed by a committee using a standardised scoring rubric<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scores are averaged across reviewers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Funding is awarded based on ranking and available budget<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Priority may be given to first-time applicants or those presenting orally<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To apply, download and submit the application &amp;
